Jakob Krupka

Jakob Krupka (41) is Development Director, and according to him, his workday can be summed up as trying to see opportunities and added value beyond the obvious.

His job involves identifying opportunities in properties and projects currently managed by Møller Eiendom, as well as uncovering hidden potential in upcoming large-scale real estate projects for the company.

Tell us about a project you are currently involved in
“Gamle Deichmanske! The old library is a well-known project that many may have heard of, but at the same time, there are perhaps ten other projects at various stages that we work on daily; Ryen, Balders gate, Fred Olsens gate, Møllergata 37, and several others,” he says.

The enthusiastic Development Director is an architect educated in Berlin and says he gains energy from working on concept development:

“It’s about ensuring the best foundation for future value and urban development when a building is planned. I like to say that my role is to oversee the process from the fantastic idea to the actual building permit.”

He particularly enjoys workdays without too many meetings, when he can focus on specific challenges and suddenly get a breakthrough idea.

When do you feel you’ve done a really good job?
“When you get advisors and architects to collaborate effectively. Then they become as engaged in a project as we are, and the work is done in a completely different way,” Jakob explains.

What is the best part of your job, and what is the most challenging?
“The best part is that I actually look forward to going to work every day. The most challenging part is that real estate development takes such an incredibly long time.”
