How would you describe working at Iterate?
Educational, exciting, demanding, and meaningful
Synne works as a designer at Iterate, a company builder that serves as an ecosystem for starting and developing new businesses. A large part of her daily work involves creating clear brands and visual identities, as well as designing digital products that people enjoy and find useful.
Why did you want this job? What brought you here?
“I knew some designers at Iterate who spoke highly of how fun it is to work here, how much influence you have, and how varied the workdays are. These are all things I value greatly. In addition, I believe that Iterate approaches things in a slightly different way within a forward-thinking work environment. I wanted to be part of exploring that!”
What are you working on right now?
“At the moment, we are helping a client develop a service that empowers people to make more climate-friendly choices. By using real-time data, knowledge, and tools, the service shows how our individual behaviors impact carbon emissions, with the goal of encouraging behavioral change.”
Synne adds that she is especially happy when the work she does for clients contributes to a more sustainable society and helps take care of the planet.
What is the best part of your job, and what is the most challenging?
“The best part is being part of a strong professional environment where you constantly feel like you’re learning something new, while also having the opportunity to share your knowledge. On top of that, it feels great when I manage to convey an abstract idea in a way that others immediately understand.”
“The most challenging part as a designer is being brought into projects too late, because not everyone shares the understanding that good design is far more than just decoration and coloring,” Synne smiles.
